London insurtech Kasko launches bike insurance cover in Belgium

London-based insurtech Kasko, a digital platform for on-demand insurance products, has built a comprehensive bike insurance product for the Belgian market.

The company has collaborated with Vivium, a part of Belgian insurance company P&V Group, for the new offering.

The bike insurance product provides cover against theft, material damage and assistance. It is available to customers in both Dutch and French.

Nikolaus Suehr, co-founder and CEO of Kasko, said: “We are proud to launch our first product in the Belgian market with Vivium. Despite the strict regulations around digital selling in the country, we were able to deliver an outstanding product at speed that our customers expect from us.”

Steven Eliaerts, business development non-life at Vivium, added: "We had a great experience collaborating with Kasko. Our partnership has been outstanding in bringing new insurance business models to market and we were really happy with the speed at which the project was completed. We were able to bring a 100 percent digital subscription based product to the market, which cannot be matched by any of our competitors.”
