Markel poaches senior PACE underwriter from CJ Coleman

Specialist insurer Markel International has hired Johan Haggo as a senior underwriter in its personal accident, contingency and entertainment (PACE) team.

Haggo joins Markel from CJ Coleman, an independent Lloyd's broker, where he was a divisional director with business development responsibility across lines of business including accident and health.

In his new role, Haggo will be tasked to develop Markel’s personal accident business and broker relationships under the leadership of managing director James Leach.

He has nearly 20 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s and London company market across both underwriting and broking.

Leach said: “Johan’s appointment completes the resourcing of our PACE team and, with his help on the personal accident business, we look forward to developing the team’s business across its areas of expertise.”
