Markel CATCo hires AIR exec for actuarial role

Markel CATCo, the reinsurance and retrocession linked investment and fund manager, has strengthened its actuarial capability with the senior appointment of specialist actuary Alissa Fredricks.

Fredricks has more than 10 years of actuarial experience. Prior to joining Markel CATCo, she was with AIR Worldwide where she was responsible for leading catastrophe risk modeling consulting studies and software services for brokers, insurers, reinsurers, capital markets, regulators, rating agencies and other insurance industry stakeholders. Prior to AIR, Fredricks worked in actuarial consulting services at Willis Towers Watson and Aon.

She will report to Sam Niles, chief actuary at Markel CATCo.
