MICC welcomes Metlife regional head

Julio Garcia-Villalon, the regional head of MetLife Middle East and Africa, has joined the MENA Insurance CEO Club (MICC) as a member.

Garcia-Villalon was appointed to his current position in January 2012. Prior to assuming this position, he was general manager of MetLife Spain and distribution director of wealth management in Western Europe.

Walid Sidani, who stepped down as CEO of ADNIC in December 2014, has resigned from the club.

Dr Bassel Hindawi, MICC steering committee member, said: "Julio has many years of experience in the insurance industry, in both the developed markets of Europe and the developing markets of our region.

“With his rich and diverse experience in the insurance industry, we trust that he will contribute meaningfully towards the Club's mission of serving as a think tank to shape and spearhead the future development of the regional insurance industry."
