Mosaic boosts financial institutions unit with Berkshire Hathaway veteran

Mosaic Insurance has tapped a 16-year Chubb and Berkshire Hathaway veteran to head up its global financial institutions division while to-date leadership seeks to build out the syndicated capital programme.

Tom Dilley (pictured) will take the post of SVP, Head of Financial Institutions, while Chris Brown, the unit's founder from just one year back, will focus exclusively on the syndicated capital programme "to provide capacity to clients in specialty lines around the world."

Dilley brings over 16 years of experience in the global financial institutions market plus established broker and client relationships. He previously oversaw the UK financial institutions sphere at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and has spent 12 years with ACE (now Chubb) in a similar unit.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Tom to Mosaic and our financial institutions division,” said Brown. “He is widely recognised and respected as a lead underwriter in this class of business and we’re pleased he will lead our FI team and accelerate the development of this portfolio."

Dilley added: “I’m delighted to be joining the talented team at Mosaic and excited for the opportunity we have to build lasting relationships with our clients and broking partners.”

Financial institutions coverage is among Mosaic’s six specialty lines. Other units include cybersecurity, political risk, political violence, transactional liability, and professional liability.
