QBE hires from Zurich for CIO role

QBE Insurance Group has appointed Markus Nordlin as global chief information officer, based in New York.

Reporting to Colin Fagen, group chief operations officer, Nordlin will be responsible for delivering IT strategies and will serve as a member of QBE’s global operations leadership team.

Nordlin has over 20 years of experience in information technology leadership, having most recently served as chief information and technology officer for Zurich Insurance.

Fagen commented: "This appointment is central to our plans to create a united IT strategy across QBE, simplifying our technology architecture and driving innovation and change. Markus has expertise in driving major infrastructure consolidation and operational excellence as well as new customer-focused digital platforms. I look forward to Markus creating further competitive advantage for QBE through efficiency gains and innovation in IT.”
