RenRe appoints independent directors to board following departure

Bermuda-based RenaissanceRe (RenRe) has appointed Duncan Hennes and Valerie Rahmani to serve as independent directors.

Hennes is the co-founder and partner of Atrevida Partners. Rahmani most recently served as the chief executive officer of Damballa, a private cyber-security company.

"With Duncan and Val we are delighted to have identified two such outstanding individuals. We welcome them to our Board,” said James Gibbons, non-executive Chair of RenaissanceRe.

The company further announced that William Hagerty, IV, who served as a member of the Board from 2015, has resigned as a director following his confirmation by the US Senate to the position of Ambassador to Japan and prior to his commencement of service as Ambassador.

Ralph Levy, who served as a member of the Board since 2007 and as non-executive chair from 2011 to 2016, has retired as a director.
