RMIA appoints new CEO

The Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA) has appointed Scott Ryrie as its new chief executive officer (CEO).

Ryrie replaces Anthony Ventura, who has been acting CEO for the past three months, in addition to his role as RMIA president and chairman.

With decades of experience in risk management, Ryrie's re/insurance career spans multiple countries, primarily in Australia and most recently in Singapore, and includes various roles with XL Re, Allianz Reinsurance, Guy Carpenter Asia Pacific, Ryrie Consulting and AM Best Asia Pacific.

Ventura said: "I am delighted to welcome Scott to the RMIA family and positive he will bring a wealth of expertise and enthusiasm to the organisation. With Scott’s leadership, fellow RMIA Board members and I are excited for what the future holds. We are confident Scott will maintain and develop our keen focus on the needs of RMIA members and the development of the risk management profession."
