SCOR Global Life Americas reshuffles roles; promotes execs

SCOR Global Life has made several promotions in the US with immediate effect, including chief actuary, COO and head of US markets.

Brona Magee has been promoted to the newly-created role of chief actuary; Brock Robbins to the position of deputy CEO - Americas; Tammy Kapeller as the new head of US markets; Sean Hartley to chief operating officer (COO) - Americas; Nicole Baird to head of human resources - Americas at SCOR Global Life.

In her new role, Magee will be in charge of risk management, pricing, reserving and valuation for the overall division, and oversee all Irish life operational entities. Based in Dublin, she will report to head of actuarial and risk Bruno Latourrette.

Robbins has taken over Magee's previous role of deputy CEO - Americas. In his new role, he will be responsible for the technical aspects of the Americas business, including finance, pricing, risk, medical underwriting and legal. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Robbins will report to CEO for the Americas JC Brueckner.

Replacing Robbins in the role of head of US markets, Kapeller will be responsible for the development and growth of the business within the US markets, including individual life reinsurance, Group Life and Health and Velogica. She will also report to Brueckner, based in Kansas City. She joined SCOR in 2013 with the acquisition of Generali USA and has been the COO for the Americas since then.

As the new COO Americas, Hartley will be responsible for all administration and claims processing for the Americas region. He joined SCOR in 2014 as vice president of human resources for the Americas. Prior to that, he was with Aegon.

Baird was previously the HR business partner in the Americas. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading the HR function in the Americas.
