Sompo expands London presence with new A&H unit, appoints leader
Bermuda-based property/casualty re/insurer Sompo International has launched a new accident and health (A&H) insurance unit.
The company has appointed Dale Willetts as executive vice president, head of accident and health, to lead the new team that includes six underwriters located in its London office. Willetts will report to Richard Housley, chief underwriting officer Sompo International London Market Insurance.
Willetts was head of underwriting A&H at ANV since 2012 and, prior to that, was in a similar role at Travelers.
The new team will write a broad portfolio of global A&H business written primarily through the company’s Lloyd's Syndicate 5151.
