Swiss Re Corporate Solutions hires Bijan Daftari from Chubb

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed Bijan Daftari as country manager for Germany, based in Munich.

He will report to Tony Buckle, chief executive officer, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Daftari has spent most of his 25-year career in the German insurance sector holding various positions in the primary market.

He joins from Chubb Insurance Company of Europe, where he was most recently the country general manager in Germany. He assumed the new position of property and casualty manager for Chubb in February 2016.

In the new role at Swiss Re, Daftari will be responsible for managing the strategy, development and performance of the company's presence in the German commercial insurance market.

Buckle said: "Germany is a significant market for us and Bijan is joining us at an exciting time. We are growing our presence and starting to lead primary business. The key will be to continue our momentum in delivering relevant products and services to clients and brokers locally.

"Bijan has a wealth of industry expertise coupled with strong underwriting and management skills. He is a well-established executive with a proven track record managing insurance portfolios. We're confident that under Bijan's leadership we will continue to build on our success in the German market."
