Towers Watson hires crisis management head
Towers Watson has appointed Frederik Koencke as the first EMEA managing director of the Crisis Management group, which provides risk transfer and consulting solutions to mitigate threats such as product contamination, kidnap and ransom, marine piracy, terrorism, and cyber, political and credit risks.
Based in Germany, Koencke joins from the executive management team at Hamburg-based BDJ Versicherungsmakler and will initially focus on extending Towers Watson’s crisis management client relationships in Germany and across continental Europe. His previous experience includes being national practice leader for Aon Crisis Management in Germany for some 10 years.
“Having established our team and credentials with clients in the UK, Lloyd’s and United States markets in recent months, Frederik provides the blend of crisis management broking and consulting experience to effectively spearhead the wider delivery of services and solutions into the very large German corporate market and continental Europe,” said Christof Bentele, chief broking officer for the Crisis Management group at Towers Watson. “We are very pleased to have Frederik on our management team, which is a testament to our ability to hire the best crisis management experts globally.”
The international Crisis Management team of brokers and consultants at Towers Watson has quickly grown to be 16 strong in less than a year.
