Trans Re appoints underwriting manager in LatAm

TransRe, the reinsurance arm of Transatlantic Holdings, has promoted Valeria Sotomayor to the role of treaty property underwriting manager for the Latin American and Caribbean division.

Sotomayor has been with the company since 2005 and held several positions during her tenure. In her current role, she is responsible for managing the LatAm and Caribbean divisions' property book of business.

"She has a very good understanding of Latin American market and excels in analytical responsibilities," said Marco Giovane, senior vice president and chief underwriting officer of Trans Re.
