Tropical storm BERYL weakens

While winds have weakened to 50 mph, heavy rain is still expected from the tropical storm BERYL, according to an update by the National Hurricane Centre.

The report said that BERYL was gradually weakening as it moved inland, and that the tropical storm warning has been discontinued north of the Savannah River.
