WTW hires 24-year Aon veteran for Europe role

Global broker  WTW has hired a 24-year  Aon veteran for a leadership role to help grow its Luxembourg business.

Alain Dufraisse (Pictured) has been appointed managing director of WTW's Luxembourg Captive and Insurance Management Solutions (CIMS) office.

Over a 30-year career, Dufraisse has held leadership positions in leading insurance management organisations, including Barents Re and Aon, and across various European domiciles, including the Isle of Man, Luxembourg, Ireland, Gibraltar, and Malta. Most recently, he served as deputy chief executive officer at Barents Re. Prior to that, he held various roles during his more than 24 years tenure at Aon, latterly as director Aon Insurance Managers Gibraltar.

Dufraisse has led the set-up, redomiciliation and ongoing management of many insurance and reinsurance companies, including open market carriers, captives, and protected cell companies.

In this newly-created role, he will report to Elizabeth Carbonaro, WTW CIMS regional lead for Western Europe, who said: “Alain will add strength to the in-domicile leadership team in Luxembourg and his appointment reflects the importance we place on this major European jurisdiction.”

Dufraisse added: “What really struck me during my first discussions with the WTW management was their listening skills, focus on people, and dedication to their clients’ needs. I am delighted to be joining WTW and am determined help grow its Luxembourg business significantly.”
