WTW shuffles Singapore leadership to drive strategic growth

WTW (Willis Towers Watson) has appointed a new country leader and head of its risk and insurance broking business in Singapore, a key hub for the company's CRB business in Asia where it sees “significant opportunities” for strategic growth.

Choo Oi San (pictured left) will assume the role of Singapore country leader, with Ludan Wang (pictured right) as head of Corporate Risk and Broking (CRB) for Singapore.

Oi San will hold dual capacity, combining her new role with her current position as division leader for South Asia and emerging markets, Insurance Consulting and Technology business. In her new role, she will work closely with business leaders across WTW to strengthen the company’s position, bringing all of its services and solutions in the areas of people, risk and capital.

Oi San has 24 years of consulting experience, more than half of which has been spent with WTW where she has held senior roles managing complex projects and key clients across the region. She actively contributes to the risk and insurance industry in Singapore, and previously served as president of the Singapore Actuarial Society as well as an Academic Board Member of the Singapore College of Insurance.

Wang, who has been appointed to lead WTW’s CRB business in Singapore, has experience and knowledge of the Asian and Global markets having worked with large corporates and small and medium-sized enterprises across multiple markets and lines of business.

Wang has been with WTW for nearly two decades and was most recently head of Asia sales and client management in the CRB business. He is also a member of RIMS Regional Advisory Group, since 2018, and an advisor to regulators in several major markets in Asia.

Commenting on both appointments, Clare Muhiudeen, head of Asia at WTW, said: “These appointments are a testament to the strong pool of talent we have in WTW. Both Oi San and Ludan are well-regarded for their professional credentials. They bring with them deep experience and market insights, making them well-placed to excel in their respective roles. As a risk consultant and actuary, Oi San’s knowledge of the region and the Singapore market will contribute greatly to how we add value for our clients to help them address challenges and opportunities in a rapidly evolving risk landscape.”

Oi San said: “I’m delighted to be given this opportunity to take on the role of the Singapore Country Leader and lead our team of colleagues in offering organisations a more comprehensive service and solutions from across WTW. Luke Ware, head of CRB Asia, WTW added: “Singapore continues to be a key hub for our CRB business in Asia and one where we have significant opportunities for strategic growth. Ludan and his team will work closely together to drive our business growth in this market, bringing innovative end-to-end solutions to address the risk challenges faced by our clients.”
