Zurich eyes Baltic expansion after 150 years in the Nordic
After establishing a stronghold in the Nordic market for nearly 150 years, Zurich Insurance Group is now expanding its presence into the Baltic region, in a strategic move to seize the growing opportunities in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
Under its Zurich Nordic arm, the insurance giant will offer its insurance and risk mitigation services in the Baltic region, leveraging both local expertise and its extensive global network.
The carrier has been operating in the Nordic market for nearly 150 years and will now enter the Baltic region. Zurich aims to focus on the middle-market segment in the Baltics, offering casualty, property, engineering, financial lines, marine insurance and more.
By combining the expertise of its Nordic specialists with the reach of its international network spanning over 200 countries and territories, Zurich seeks to provide customers and brokers in the Baltics with access to claims, underwriting, service, and risk engineering expertise.
Mattias Fritz, CEO Zurich Nordic, said: “We are excited to extend our footprint to the Baltic market and offer their businesses our local expertise, global network and world-class service. The risk landscape is becoming more complex, and we want Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian customers and insurance brokers to experience how we can make a difference in catering to their ever-changing needs.”
