April & mid-year renewals still show margin for growth: Hannover Re

Reinsurance treaty renewals in 2026 will likely follow a pattern laid down at the 1/1 exercise, including sizeable rate decline amid heavy capacity and modest demand, but will be cleared on rational pricing that won’t force Hannover Re into notable portfolio pruning, Hannover Re’s chief of P&C reinsurance, Sven Althoff (pictured), has suggested.
