Acappella Syndicate appoints war, terrorism and political violence leader

Lloyd’s Acappella Syndicate 2014 has appointed Louise Bessant as divisional head of its war, terrorism and political violence insurance portfolio.

Bessant has over 25 years of experience in the London market. She began her underwriting career at QBE in 2006 within the crisis management team. She joined Canopius in 2008 as part of a new startup underwriting sabotage and terrorism, war on land, kidnap and ransom, and contaminated products insurance.

After spending four years at Canopius, Bessant moved to Hardy Syndicate 382 as a senior underwriter in terrorism and political violence and class underwriter in US product recall.

David Indge, active underwriter at Acappella, said: "We are really delighted that Louise has chosen to join us. She has considerable experience and expertise in the class and we are all looking forward to working with her."

Syndicate 2014 is managed by Pembroke Managing Agency.
