AmericanAg hires underwriter to focus on business in Europe and China

American Agricultural Insurance Company (AmericanAg) has hired a new assistant vice president of underwriting/marketing.

Doug Nuehring joins the global reinsurer and assumes responsibility for underwriting a portion of its broker assumed international portfolio, including programmes in Western and Northern Europe and China.

Nuehring was formerly at EMC Reinsurance Company, where he spent over 25 years, most recently as international reinsurance underwriting manager.

Pat Larsen, senior vice president of broker assumed reinsurance, said Nuehring’s “strong background in international property/casualty underwriting and extensive experience in building client relationships will make him a great asset to us as we work to profitably grow our international book of business.”

AmericanAg is a direct provider of reinsurance to Farm Bureau insurance companies and participates in assumed US and international reinsurance programmes through the broker marketplace.
