Arthur J Gallagher completes two more acquisitions in US

Insurance brokerage Arthur J Gallagher has acquired Construction Risk Solutions (CRS) in Hunt Valley, Maryland, and Chicago-based consulting firm Gruppo Marcucci (GPM).

CRS is a retail insurance broker providing property/casualty (P&C) and risk management insurance and surety services for the construction industry in the US. Gruppo Marcucci specialises in human resources (HR) and benefits technology solutions.

Following the transaction, both the companies will continue to operate from their current locations.

CRS president John Wagner and his associates will operate under the direction of Douglas Brown, head of Gallagher's northeast retail P&C brokerage operations, and Gruppo Marcucci’s team, led by partners Rhonda Marcucci and Ed Barry, under Gallagher's employee benefit consulting and brokerage chief operating officer Tony Hernandez.

"CRS has developed an outstanding reputation for its depth of industry expertise, strong market relationships and dedicated team approach to quality client service," said J Patrick Gallagher, Jr, chairman, president and CEO.

"Their team-based culture and construction industry specialization will be a terrific complement to our Northeast Region, and we are very pleased to welcome John and his colleagues to our growing Gallagher family of professionals."

He added: "GPM's team is well-respected for their deep knowledge and thought leadership in the HR and benefits technology space. Their market expertise, national presence and solid industry relationships will be terrific complements to our growing employee benefits brokerage and consulting operation."

"We are pleased to bring Rhonda, Ed and their associates into the growing Gallagher family of professionals. Gruppo Marcucci has been servicing Gallagher clients for nearly 10 years now, so acquiring the firm will provide our brokers with even greater access to HR and benefits technology outsourcing market intelligence, while expanding our position in the marketspace."
