Ascot MGA Ethos swoops for CapSpecialty excess casualty head
Ethos Specialty Insurance Services, a managing general agency (MGA) and an Ascot Group company, has hired Kevin Mooney as senior vice president and head of small and medium enterprise (SME) casualty from CapSpecialty.
Mooney will report into Rory Cline, Ethos chief underwriting officer, and will focus on developing excess casualty products for SME clients. He will also work closely with Justin Meizlik, Ethos chief operating officer, on building technology-enabled underwriting platforms.
Most recently, Mooney was head of excess casualty at CapSpecialty Insurance Company, and has prior experience with Navigators, Torus, ACE, and AIG in creating and distributing casualty insurance products through the retail and wholesale brokers.
“We are delighted to have Kevin join our team,” said Cline. “He has a long, successful track record of building technology portals to streamline the underwriting process, providing a distinct service differentiator to brokers and clients.”
Mooney commented: “I am excited to join this fast growing organisation. The commitment to invest in technology will enable us to build a market leading platform.”
