Ascot Underwriting hires founding director of Lloyd Thompson

Ascot Underwriting has appointed John Lloyd, a founding director of Lloyd Thompson (now JLT), to its board as an independent non-executive director.

Lloyd was a founding director of Lloyd Thompson in 1981 and was appointed chairman of Lloyd Thompson Group in 1993.

After the merger with Jardine Insurance Brokers in 1997, creating Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT), Lloyd served as director of JLT Group until 2005.

He served as chairman and CEO of the JLT Group subsidiary Lloyd & Partners from 2005 until 2014, when he moved to his role as CEO of JLT Specialty.
