BMS snares Lockton’s head of insurtech for its capital advisory business

BMS, the independent specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, has appointed Bruce Murdock as managing director at BMS Capital Advisory.

Murdock has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance and financial services industry and joins from Lockton Capital Markets, where he was most recently managing director and head of insurtech. He started his career at XL Group in 1990 as a US underwriter, and since then has held senior positions at Sheumack & Co, IRC Securities and Macquarie Capital USA and Fox-Pitt Kelton, now part of Swiss Re Group.

At BMS Murdock reports to Romulo Braga, chief executive officer at BMS Capital Advisory.

Braga highlighted Murdock’s “broad market relationships with corporate, venture and private equity investors, as well as his experience in leading a number of new insurtech capital advisory engagements,” as particularly attractive attributes.
