Dale Underwriting Partners Syndicate 1729 at Lloyd's has appointed Mark Channell as its chief operations officer.

Channell joins Dale from Sirius International Managing Agency, where he was the chief operating officer and served on the board, executive committee and risk and capital committees. Channell will report to CEO Duncan Dale.

Prior to Sirius, he was the senior manager of international regulatory affairs at Lloyd's of London. Before that, he also served as operational strategy manager at Brit Insurance, and aerospace operations director at Willis.

Duncan Dale said: "This is a further important step in the development of our business and we expect to benefit significantly from Mark's experience and expertise in the operational aspects of Lloyd’s businesses."

The company recently announced its 2016 results, claiming modest underwriting profit in its first year of account.
