Lloyd's broker W Denis Insurance Brokers has formed a new professional and financial risks division in London under the leadership of Gallagher duo Richard Bowdidge and John Walsh.

Bowdidge was the chair of the ProFin National Practice Group at Stackhouse Poland (latterly Gallagher), preceded by an executive director position at Lucas Fettes & Director of UK corporate risks division in Tysers.

Walsh was also an account director and broker at Lucas Fettes which was acquired by Stackhouse Poland, then Gallagher.

Mark Dutton, director of W Denis Insurance Brokers, said: “Richard and John have an exemplary reputation in this field, combined with a deep knowledge of Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity and Management Liability risks, with a combined London market broking experience of 63 years.

"Whilst W Denis has operated successfully in the Professional and Financial Risks sector for decades, this newly formed specialist division, led by Richard and John, is the creation of a centre of excellence and demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the first class service that our clients receive. This is particularly relevant in the current hard market for certain types of PII and international D&O where capacity limitations have impacted businesses. We are here to help such organisations with innovative solutions, capitalising on our expert skills plus extensive market relationships.”
