Munich Re, Chubb, Berkshire & Everest executives join new specialty MGA Falcon Risk

Falcon Risk Services, a new specialty managing general agency (MGA) formed by  HDI Global Specialty SE, Griffin Highline Capital and Craig Landi, has bolstered its leadership with key senior hires from  Munich Re, Chubb, Berkshire Hathaway and Everest.

Falcon Risk was  launched earlier this year with a focus on underwriting and claims management of financial and cyber lines in the US.

The company has hired Bryan Harmsen (Pictured) as chief operating officer, and Danielle Cirillo as head of private company management liability, alongside Andrew Menger as head of public company management liability and Tim Barry as head of financial institutions.

Harmsen joins from Munich Re, where he was head of data operations and process improvement. He has held several senior operational roles in the insurance industry spanning the last ten years. Prior to his transition into insurance, he worked for IBM for nine years culminating in a leadership role implementing their Global Delivery Framework for IT Service Delivery.

Cirillo has over 12 years of insurance industry experience. She was previously at Chubb serving as a regional leader for private company and not-for-profit management liability.

Menger was previously at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where he was vice president of executive lines. He has over 25 years of commercial management liability experience and has held multiple senior roles during his career.

Barry was previously at Everest leading the asset management team. Prior to joining the insurance industry, he spent five years as an equity sales trader.

Falcon chief executive officer Landi said: “We are excited to bring Bryan Harmsen on board in the role of Chief Operating Officer. He has a proven track record of providing best-in-class solutions and executing them quickly and skillfully. Having Bryan on board will help us to continue delivering on our strategy to provide a new alternative for financial, professional, and cyber risks.”

David Lynders, EVP of management liability, added: “I’m thrilled to have Andrew, Danielle and Tim on the leadership team. Their technical expertise, deep relationships and commitment to service will enable Falcon to deliver a broader set of risk transfer solutions to brokers and clients.”
