QBE expands UK financial lines leadership with senior Chubb hire

Re/insurer  QBE has expanded its financial line leadership in the UK with a senior underwriting hire from Chubb.

Gill Rhodes joins QBE as regional underwriting manager, financial lines.

In the newly created role, Rhodes will be responsible for QBE’s financial lines products regionally, with particular focus on professional indemnity, management liability and cyber as part of QBE’s UK growth plans.

Rhodes joins from Chubb where she was Northern Region financial lines manager and brings 20 years of financial lines underwriting experience to the role.

She will report to Andy Fitzgerald, director of UK regions and will be based in QBE’s Leeds office. In the UK, QBE has regional offices in Belfast, Bristol, Birmingham, Chelmsford, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, and Stafford.

Fitzgerald said: “We’re delighted to have someone of Gill’s calibre joining the team. She will play a pivotal role in growing our financial lines business in regional markets in the UK as part of our overall growth plan.

“QBE has always been a major player in financial lines with a strong London-based presence and we look forward to expanding our regional presence with Gill on board, particularly as more businesses see management liability and cyber as essential cover to have in place.”
