Arch reveals senior credit and political risk hire from Canopius

Arch Insurance International, part of Bermuda-based re/insurer Arch Capital Group, has bolstered its London-based credit and political risk division with the hiring of senior underwriter Tim Watson.

Watson is set to join the company in mid-2021.

Most recently, he was credit and political risk underwriter at Canopius Group. Prior to that, he was credit and political risk underwriter at ANV and terrorism and political violence underwriter at Jubilee.

In his new role, Watson will be responsible for underwriting activities across Arch's credit and political risk insurance portfolio, focusing on enhancing its service capabilities. Based in London, he will report to Ed Cornish, head of credit & political risk.

Cornish said: “Arch has achieved strong growth across its Credit & Political Risk portfolio since the establishment of the team two years ago. Tim’s experience and expertise make him an ideal addition to our team and he will play a key role in helping to further strengthen our broker relationships in this highly competitive and fast-evolving sector.”
