Aspen Re America promotes exec to head of casualty treaty role

Aspen Re America (ARA) has appointed Donna McDermott as head of ARA casualty treaty - special lines.

McDermott joined Aspen in 2009, and has more than 30 years' underwriting experience.

Reporting to McDermott will be Sam DeGiovanni, who is being promoted to assistant vice president, ARA casualty treaty. DeGiovanni will work closely with Donna and Mark Hoadley, head of ARA casualty treaty - standard lines.

John Hammarlund, vice president and head of ARA casualty facultative, will report to McDermott in her new role.
