Essent Re appoints president

Essent Reinsurance, Essent Group’s Bermuda-based reinsurer, has appointed Joseph Hissong as president.

Hissong joins from Cartesian Re Group where he served as executive director. Prior to this, he was the executive director and head of private equity/strategic investments for PartnerRe, where he sponsored PartnerRe’s original investment in Essent.

In addition, Paul Wollmann was named chief underwriting officer. Wollmann has been with Essent Re since 2009.
