Liberty Specialty Markets appoints Warren as active underwriter

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Jane Warren as active underwriter.

She will report to Phil Hobbs, deputy managing director and chief underwriting officer for LSM. Warren is based in London and takes up the new role with immediate effect.

Warren takes over the role from Peter Smith, who recently moved to an expanded role with Liberty Mutual Re. As LSM’s active underwriter, she will be responsible for managing Lloyd’s Syndicate 4472, leveraging the future changes at Lloyds to benefit our customers and clients. Prior to this appointment, Warren was UK legal entity managing director, and she will continue to retain responsibility for this role, leading the relationship with Lloyd’s of London and the relevant regulators.

Warren has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry in senior management, operations, re/insurance underwriting, risk management, broking and regulatory roles. She joined Liberty in 2019 from Axis Specialty Europe, where she was chief operating officer.
