Nordic insurer Gjensidige hires former AXIS/LGT for reinsurance team

Nordic insurance group Gjensidige has hired Aleksander Hope, an ILS expert who has worked at AXIS Capital and private bank LGT, as a director in the reinsurance team. He will be based in Oslo, Norway.

Hope began his career in reinsurance at AXIS Capital eventually becoming an underwriter of property catastrophe and engineering risks. In 2014, he joined the ILS underwriting and investment team of private bank LGT.

The company said in a statement: “We are pleased that Alex Hope joined the reinsurance Team at Gjensidige on Jan 1, 2019, as a director of reinsurance.”
