Peak Re hires claims expert from Marsh

Hong Kong-based reinsurer Peak Re has appointed Sophia Chiu, formerly of Marsh, as senior vice president for claims, overseeing the entire claims operations for the company.

Chiu will be responsible for delivering the company’s claims philosophy, setting up claims procedures, to support the company’s development in the region.

Chiu has joined Peak Re from Marsh Hong Kong where she was the technical consultant, advising on both the revamp of the company’s claims procedures and systems as well as various complex claims.

Prior to that, she worked as a consultant for MSIG and held senior claims positions for other insurance companies, including Falcon Insurance and HSBC Lombard Insurance, based in Hong Kong.
