Validus Re makes a trio of appointments

Validus Reinsurance, the reinsurance subsidiary of Validus, has made a trio of underwriting promotions in its Bermuda office.

Chris Estwanik, currently assistant vice president, US property underwriter, has been promoted to vice president, US property underwriter. He joined Validus Re as an analyst in 2007.

Mark Robinson, currently assistant vice president, international property underwriter, has been promoted to vice president, international property underwriter. Robinson joined Validus in 2009.

In addition, Cameron Maffit, currently specialty and marine underwriter, has been promoted to assistant vice president, specialty and marine underwriter. Maffit has been with Validus since 2010, where he began his career as a reserving actuary.

“These promotions reflect the hard work and valuable contributions that Chris, Mark and Cameron have made for Validus,” said Kean Driscoll, chief executive officer of Validus Re. “Their self-discipline, strong work ethic and commitment have allowed them to progress quickly and successfully within the organisation, and I am confident that these talented underwriters will be instrumental in continuing to strengthen our global team and capabilities.”
