Women in reinsurance come together for SRA WiRe
Women in Reinsurance (WiRE), a sub-committee of The Singapore Reinsurers’ Association (SRA) formed in September, organised a year-end networking event for businesswomen in the insurance industry.
Over 50 industry professionals came together to share their entrepreneurial experiences and how diversity made a significant impact in their journey.
WiRE was launched by SRA to support women in the reinsurance industry and provide them networking opportunities, with executives from Swiss Re, Munich Re, Lloyd’s Asia, Willis Re, Allianz Re, Aspen Re, Aon Benfield, IAG Re and Guy Carpenter.
“We are pleased to see the achievements made by WiRE in its first year. Their plans for 2017 are a compelling offering for our talented women in the industry,” said Kenrick Law, SRA executive committee member and regional CEO and head of P&C Client Management Asia Pacific at event’s sponsor Allianz Re.
Anna Kohls, a WiRE sub-committee member, said: “At our launch event, we asked the WiRE community to vote for the activity that would most interest them and keep them actively involved with WiRE. Networking was the number one priority by far for most respondents, and we have taken their feedback seriously."
