US cyber losses hit nearly $21bn as SME protection gap persists, Triple-I warns

Cybercrime losses reported to the FBI reached nearly $21 billion in 2025, up from about $16 billion in 2024, according to a new issues brief from the Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I).
